When I have looked at self-discovery journal prompts in the past, I’ve been disappointed. While they ask questions to get to know what I dream about and want my future to be like, I feel like they never got to the core part of me.

For this post, I wanted to use these prompts to take you on a journey. After doing some research, I’ve formulated the questions to sift through you past, shape your values, find meaning, silence your inner critic, and develop compassion for others.

Because self-discovery is about more than just knowing your hopes and wishes; it’s about finding what makes you YOU. It’s about delving into your past and understanding weaknesses. It’s about reaching out with compassion to serve others and find meaning.

Spend a day on each prompt. Set a timer for 15 minutes or just write. Basically, try to delve deeper than a few sentences without real thought.

Be sure to follow these journal prompts in order too. They are meant to be pondered in this order as it takes you through the past and your ideals to who you want to become. To help you with this, you can find a printable calendar in the resource library (which you can access below by entering your email).
