December is my favorite month of the year. If it wasn’t for the freezing temperatures (I’m looking at your Chicago), it would be perfect. To me, December is a time for family, cozy blankets, service, hot cocoa, and light.

With the change in weather, seeing Christmas decorations in shop windows, and the beginnings of never-ending Christmas music, I didn’t want this holiday season to go by without making this the perfect holiday season.

In part to satiate my obsession with lists, and to keep track of this perfect season, I decided to create a holiday bucket list.

Being a fan of buckets lists (and lists in general), one drawback I’ve found is that I never seem to cross anything off for months at a time. Usually, I forget it even exists until six months later. A holiday bucket list gives you a snapshot of a month to complete everything. That means you don’t have six months to spend forgetting it. With so little time to complete it, you will need to look at it daily.

To make it even easier on yourself, write it in a planner, place it beside your desk, record it in your notes on your phone, or taped it to the wall. As long as you see it daily, you’re good.

But the point of this isn’t to check off every item. Sure, that would be the best holiday month ever, however, it can easily become more stress than excitement. Look at this bucket list as an adventure rather than a to-do list.

Below, I’ve added a blank calendar for the month if you prefer to a pre-made one to print. As well, here are some ideas of what to add. Add one for each day or space them out with one or two a week. Your calendar, your call 🙂
